Bitter sweet it is.

After years of pulling my dream together, the time has come to bid farewell to the Closet of Style blog.

For those of you who receive the styliciousness via email, you already know that my blog has moved to a new platform on my new site It's exciting and liberating and I look forward to seeing where it leads. Having a place to speak on everything that impacts how we express ourselves — literally, an inside out approach — has been a vision of mine for over two years. And this evolution allows me time to determine the best format of communication to use.

For those of you who receive my blog posts via RSS feed, please visit my new site and subscribe so that we can stay in touch! I am also in the process of determining various ways to bring my workshops and studies to those around the globe that may not have the chance to attend in person.

I have absolutely loved everything about this journey. One might think that after 11 years of writing blog posts for Closet of Style that I might be sad to see it go. However, I have always been one to reinvent myself and the new direction brings much opportunity. Having all my offerings — for businesses and for the individual — in one location is amazing. And this includes my styling and healthy lifestyle services. Whoop whoop!

So please join me in my new space. I look forward to seeing you there!

It's 2018.

Another opportunity, another year to find yourself. Or, reinvent yourself.

January is one of my favorite months to dream and plan. Not just about where I want to take my work, but also where I want to take my family. And I'm not talking about vacation. I'm talking about real life — things that matter.

There is so much newness in the air it's exciting (and quite frankly, a little scary knowing what this year brings). Every year, I gain a higher level of clarity. As I watch things come together, a marrying of style and health, it's refreshing to see that it's catching on.

As a wardrobe stylist, I can attest that it's much more than what our eyes see. Our personal brand portrays who we are, who we want to be and who people perceive us to be. Uncovering someone's personal brand means knowing their truth. Our truth comes from our core, supported by good health (physical, mental, emotional) — the best form of self expression. And that's where personal brand becomes an experience. The full brand experience is what I call inside out living.

The workshops and speaking engagements I do for companies — whether on style or healthy living in the workplace — demonstrate that it's all about tapping into confidence in order to harness and unleash our individual, inherent truth.

That is powerful. And that power is meant for YOU.

So let's embrace 2018 with arms wide open. I'm ready. Are you?

Press the pause button.

During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we pile more on ourselves than we can handle, sending us into a tail spin. But it doesn't have to be that way.

Just as you schedule meetings, clients and appointments each week, schedule some time for yourself. Scatter 15 minutes in a few times a day just to breathe or sit in quiet. And how about a little R&R at the spa? An amazing facial does more for you than just pamper your face — it's a body, mind and soul refresher.

This year, this season has not been rushed. In fact, it's been peaceful, for which I am forever grateful. The more in tune I become with myself in how I serve others, the more I realize the importance of pressing the pause button. After all, my clients deserve the best me.

During a recent visit to the spa, I picked up a treat for myself — Siam SEAS Elements Beauty Balm, packed with four powerhouse Southeast Asian botanicals, Vitamin C and Oxyresveratrol from Lakoocha extract. Aside from the fact that I want to eat my face off because it smells so good, it's perfect for this dry, cold (and busy) season. It is formulated to heal skin while allowing it to glow healthily.

Best yet, the simple ritual of applying this luscious balm is in fact a pause button.

So press the pause button already! Breathe, unwind and relax. Then, jump back in when you're ready.

tachalipbalmI may have just fallen in love.

I am no stranger to lip balm. In fact, based on how many coat pockets lip balm is tucked away in, you'd probably think lip care was my number one priority. It's funny, such a little thing that means so much to me. My family reminded me the other day that I clearly show how much I love lip balm by giving my favorites as gifts every year in their stockings (and they are still stocked up).

Well, meet Gold Spun Camellia Lip Balm by Tatcha, an ultra-hydrating lip balm made of nourishing Camellia oil. This balm is the bomb! It leaves your lips super soft with a golden shimmer. Enriched with Camellia oil and Squalene, it absorbs quickly and smoothly. Camellia oil is rich in oleic acid and vitamins A, B, D and E as well as Omegas 3, 6 and 9. I love that it's formulated without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, PEGs, PPGs, DEA, TEA, urea or phthalates.

Glossy finish, 23-karat gold flakes and a touch of sensual shimmer. Bam!

We all need an easy heel to work in. There's no reason to compromise style, either. When you can get it at the right price, too — homerun!

Enter the almost sold out Antonio Barbato leather and suede pointed strap heel. A mere 3 inches in height, you can strut your stuff in confidence. What I love most about this shoe is its versatility. Where can it not go?
