Much to do before catching my flight to NYC this morning.

Quite frankly, I am not sure I will get everything done before I leave. However, I have to trust that what doesn't get done will be okay not getting done. It will still be there when I return. And this girl needs to spend her energy on the streets of the city I love. That's where I do my best work, after all.

Here's to working hard. And here's to knowing when to hang up, disconnect and just let it be.

The anticipation of fall.

Goodness to come.

That doesn't mean you can't embrace a little fall right now in this crazy heat.

Last night we had dinner with friends. Delightful, as always. And I didn't let the heat dictate what I was wearing. Yes, I was smart enough to think it through. All in all, I was quite comfortable. What did I wear? A black and white sleeveless knit dress, black cropped leather jacket and black patent booties. Somehow it didn't seem too soon.

You have to do what feels right to you. However, a little nudge here and there may help.

Start simple. Perhaps summer shorts and a sheer sweater with tan suede fringe booties. Or, a floor length cotton dress with oxford shoes.

If it doesn't come naturally, call me. Wardrobe whisperer at your service!

The more muggy and sweltering the weather, the more impatient I become waiting for fall.

I long for the days I can reach for layers. Fuzzy sweaters. Skinny cords. Scarves. Thigh high boots. And fur.

With a plethora of furry options this year — faux and the real deal — there is something for everyone. Perhaps you're digging long fur vests. This fox and goat option by Yves Salomon is beyond fabulous. It comes with a black nappa leather belt and has two side pockets. Its functionality rocks. And it's so chic!

What is grabbing your attention this season?

I am not much of a denim dress fan, but this one has seriously changed my mind.

This season brings back the oversized look for an easy, relaxed vibe. While you may wince at the mere thought of wearing something larger than life, when paired with the right accessories, most can make it work — and many can rock it out!

Marques' Almeida is known for simple, casual designs, with a signature frayed trim and thigh-high hem length. This frayed denim mini dress does not disappoint. Sneakers or heels. Your call!
