The last few months have been a whirlwind of styling. And in that time, I have come across some amazing pieces to help my clients step outside of the box and inject splashes of fun into their wardrobes.
Of course what we wear serves a purpose, a function. However, what we wear is also an extention of our personality. It's what we communicate to the world about us, a little bit at a time. Staying true to your individual style is important. But know, there is absolutely nothing wrong with adding a few surprises into the mix. The giddy factor is ever important.
This bold, color block coat in an argyle design does just that. MSGM got it right by providing both typical and atypical outerwear this season. Tailored in Italy from wool-blend felt, this cocooning style is finished with smooth satin lining that effortlessly slips over shirts, knitwear and dresses.

There is something about that lived-in look to a boot. Easy. Casual. No fuss.
This black suede and leather laceless desert boot from Marsèll is perfect for most of life's everyday occasions. Instantly recognizable by a use of washed leather finishes and fluid shapes, the Italian artisanal label is known for its nonchalant take on luxury. The shoes are carefully handcrafted with a worn-in look for a modern appeal.

What appeals to me these days — simplicity.
During this transitional season, where the temperatures fluctuate, an oversized caftan style dress seems quite perfect. Easy to layer under or over. I love this one by Shaina Mote. Made in the U.S.A., it's available in both white and black and features a graduated hem line and hip pockets. Shaina is known for creating conversational pieces that evolve with the wearer through the years, reflecting an effortless west coast attitude with fine tailoring and high-end construction.
Depending on your climate, this is one piece that can be worn throughout the year.

I don't typically go gaga for checks.
However, Theory gets an A+ for this fall look.
Theory is known for its impeccable tailoring. And the Laurent top is precision, with contouring seams made to flatter. Woven with a Prince of Wales check, this stretch wool piece has handy zipped pockets and is unlined for lightness. Paired with Theory's Demitria pants, and you have simple perfection.

The morning chill was delicious, wasn't it? It made me long for slippers.
Hands down, my favorite gift from my family every Christmas is slippers. Why? Well, that's simple, my feet are always cold. Some years I experiment with new brands. However, I am mostly boring and stick with the same down slippers, as they are a sure thing.
Look at these, though! Sorel, you have me tempted. A slipper that I can actually walk outside in. There are a couple versions, too, in addition to color options. Premium suede upper, rich felt vamp, cozy fleece and vulcanized rubber outsole whose herringbone design delivers traction on wet surfaces.
