Unfortunate circumstances can hit at any time, and always when you least expect them. It was around this time two years ago when I received a frightful call that led to an immediate departure out of town. My sisters and I met my parents at the hospital in Dallas for my Dad's surgery. Thankfully, we are all here to celebrate another clean CT scan for the second year in a row.

Spending several days in the hospital awaiting the results of the surgery, I was thankful for many things — my green tea, warm clothing, reading material and most importantly, comforting and loving company. Should you find yourself in this position, it's important to be prepared, as you may not have the opportunity to go back and forth between hospital and home. Wear suitable pants, whether that be jeans or trousers. Layer a comfy tee under a cashmere wrap, and bring along a super soft scarf (hospitals get chilly). You'll want a roomy handbag to carry all of your things from waiting room to recovery room to admitting room. Go for shoes that keep your feet warm and allow you to walk easily from all points of the hospital, whether that be flats or wedge boots. Jewelry should be minimal (if any). Perhaps simple hoop earrings.

While no hospital visit is pleasant, Closet of Style™ would like to keep you as comfortable as possible during this time. Sending warm and healthy vibes to all the families going through difficult times at this moment.
