Every week, I am putting date night outfits together for clients. However, blind dates are in a category unto themselves. There is plenty of nervous energy going on for both parties and then some. Don't let the anticipation kill you. Being prepared eliminates a lot of uncertainty. Most blind dates take place over coffee, lunch or a casual dinner. Not sure what to wear? This is where you play it safe.

Women, pair trouser jeans with a black fitted silk top. The hourglass shape of this draped neckline top by Roland Mouret provides a flirty silhouette. Black is a power color and it's a classic. It will send a statement. Go for glamorous jeweled drop earrings, a vintage-inspired bangle, and an ornate necklace. Mix in a colorful clutch, like this fun box clutch by Matthew Williamson. A beige or gold crisscross sandal with hidden platform will serve you well. And don't forget a wrap (either color works), should you get cold. Men, you look great in blue. Use it to your advantage. Blue is a peaceful and calming color. It's one of those colors that makes you (and others) feel good. Pair a blue shirt with gray pants. Don't wear jeans. You want to look professional and charming ... remember first impressions. Go for stylish lace up leather shoes, a black belt and a nice watch. Off you go! Nothing to be nervous about now.
