Life is life. It's busy.

Do I wish I had more time to hang out with girlfriends? Absolutely.

That's exactly why I'm ever so thankful to have had some girl time today — both morning and again in the evening. Jealous as my children were, it was high time! I rarely do for me. And I realize, it's that phase of life that I'm in.

Of course I will be there every waking moment for my children. I certainly don't want to miss a thing. I will blink and they will be off to college. Ugh. While that seems like forever, time goes by fast. So, I am holding on tight.

However, I realized tonight, I can escape for a few hours and catch up with friends. No one really missed me all that much, right? And for me, it's essential. Critical. Vital to my well being. And I have got to allow myself these opportunities more often.

Duly noted.

shemeansbusinessAfter partaking in way too much Easter candy, way before the actual day, I have decided to give Lent another go for the rest of the year.

While I didn't give up candy for lent, I am giving it up for the rest of the year. Yep, through December 31st. That tells you just how bad I've been. To the point that I'm not sure I'll miss it.

Can I have cookies? Yes. Cake? Yes. However, those are items I don't eat very often, so I feel I'll be a bit more safe sticking to healthy eating habits.

Which leads me to goals. The ones we may have forgotten about. Spring is the perfect time to revisit them to ensure we are on track.

And if we are not, get up on it!

This week, my rear end got kicked. Curse those budding Bradford Pear trees!

Last weekend when the weather was ridiculously warm and wonderful, they decided to bud. Who knew I was allergic to Bradford Pears? Is that really possible? Now, it's freezing cold again. And being allergy infested in the cold — so not cool. Allergies typically never hit me. But evidently, Bradford Pear trees are now on the naughty list.

Many thanks to my understanding clients that put up with my box of tissue in tow. I'm thrilled with all we accomplished. Next week, there's even more style goodness on tap. Bring it!

Around this time every year, we steal away for family skiing. It's great bonding time. We all keep active. We challenge ourselves. And we laugh a lot. The best part of all, it happens to be my children's very favorite vacation — above anything else. I love that.

While you might think packing for a ski trip is daunting, it's quite the opposite. The fact of the matter is, there's little to no need for makeup or a suitcase full of clothes you'll never wear. Aside from ski essentials, one to two outfits is all you really need, including a big fluffy sweater and Mou boots. Oh, and cozy PJs which you'll wear more than anything else.
