Fashion Week can be felt and seen from all around the globe. Cities, both small and large, that have never presented a venue in the past for fashion week have taken it upon themselves to create their own week of fashion splendor. The goal: to showcase local designers. 

When I heard Varela LaMar was showing in Panama, I couldn't wait to tune in to see what Nixia had in store. From sheer mesh to satin and silk fabrics, the collection stayed true to the Varela LaMar trademark: simple elegance and versatility.

Here are a few of my favorite looks from the runway.
