Here's to the weekend (yes, thinking about it already).
The last opportunity of summer to linger with family and friends for the holiday.
No surprise, we will be hitting the lake. But it may come as a surprise that I haven't been in a bathing suit all summer long. Crazy, right?
Now that I have to muster up the confidence to rock out a suit, I feel like it's time for a new one.
I am so in love with this eggplant triangle bikini by Vix. Not that I'd be covered adequately, but it is striking. The straps are adjustable and the bottoms have flattering matelassé sides.

Hello swimsuit season.
Though I am not ready, this is what I dream of wearing.
In my dreams, of course.
Kudos to Lisa Marie Fernandez in designing this low-rise Marie-Louise bikini made from Italian crepe — light and soft. The wrap cut not only lifts and supports, but also creates definition at the waist. The navy and cream color combo is flattering, no matter your skin tone.
And the model's tush! If you visit Net-a-Porter to grab this gorgeous bathing suit, check out the backside. It certainly gives me plenty of motivation to continue my workouts.
After hanging out at the lake with friends for the holiday weekend, it was confirmed — that kind of relaxation involves very little clothes. Which requires very little packing. Awesome.
While I am not one to hit the pool in the summer, I love the easy breezy nature of kaftans. I could probably live in a kaftan all season long. And I am surely a sucker for floor length hems.
This beautiful, silk flowy Beach Comber kaftan makes me smile. The print reminds me of an exotic escape. That's exactly where my head is these days.
With school ending and the focus shifting to the summer schedule, I only wish I could linger at the lake in my kaftan. Quite the opposite, I believe I will spend the entire summer in my car.

This T by Alexander Wang navy and white stripe bikini is too cool for school. You could even wear thisΒ top with a high-waisted skirt after a day on the beach and hit the town running. Super versatile, considering the cropped nature of SS14!
Available at My Theresa
Believe it or not, yes.
For the best selection of bathing suits, January is the time to shop. You'll also get a little extra attention in the stores, as only those heading off to tropical destinations are buying swimsuits.
Resort season is on, so take advantage of what's out there. You don't have to commit immediately. Just an hour of your time to see what strikes your fancy.
Not sure what shapes serve your body? Check out these suggestions. And consider picking up a bottle of self tanning lotion!
