bbCreamStickAs I begin to pack for my upcoming trip to NYC, I not only have to think about clothing essentials (for snow and cold), but also skin care and makeup. And one thing that will definitely make it into my cosmetics bag is Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Vanilla.

While this is a cream shadow, I use it almost exclusively as an eye base. It's my trick to keep eye shadow going strong all day and all night. This shadow stick glides on tug-free, so it's easy to use. Prior to switching over to the stick, I used Bobbi's Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Bone. I find the stick to be as effective, yet faster to use. Making my routine that much simpler.

A few more clients, a few weekend sports and then I am off. No overpacking. Not me. I'd rather leave room for shopping!

beccabronzerToday, I visited with my favorite crew at my favorite beauty boutique, Jeffre Scott in Charlotte. Among learning of all the über fabulous upcoming events, I got to play with a product that I have always wanted to try.

I am no newcomer when it comes to cosmetics brands. And BECCA has been a part of my life for at least ten years. However, I was never tempted by a liquid bronzer, so I didn't know what I was missing. Until now.

BECCA's Bronzing Skin Perfector is a universally flattering, semi-sheer bronzing cream that smooths, evens and perfects skin, leaving a radiance that is undeniable. It feels much like a primer going on and leaves a gorgeous satiny finish.

This versatile product can be used over your moisturizer in place of foundation, or blended with your foundation, or used to contour areas of your face that the sun would naturally hit. Light reflecting particles diffuse light, so your skin glows with added warmth.

Once you use this, you will never want to go without it!

ChanelChamadeIt's snowing! Time to hit the slopes.

If you can't quite make that happen, no worries. You can still get those beautiful rosy cheeks, making everyone believe you escaped the city for a few days. Try Chanel's powder-cream formula in Chamade, which offers sheer, yet vibrant, color.

The silky texture provides a long-wear satin finish. And it's simple to apply with your fingertips or a brush.

Instant luminosity and a quick pick-me-up — yes, please!

Better brows. I want them.

I have reviewed many eyebrow products in my day. Though, nothing that keeps me coming back. And nothing that makes me want to squeal in delight. Well, with the exception of one tool — the best brow brush on earth, Claudio Riaz Instant Brow Brush. I do think this brush is genius for those who want instant brows and don't expect perfection. However, I can't say that I've found the perfect accompaniment. Which leads me to my quest.

I have my eye on a few products that I'm hoping can either complete my current state of brows (seal the deal, i.e., set brows), or recreate new ones that are even better.

On my list: Kimiko Super Fine Eyebrow Pencil Automatique for its fine point tip to help fill in sparse areas with precision. Laura Mercier Brow Definer Gel for those morning I am impatient and want awesome brows fast. MAC Brow Set to keep my brows in place, and in the shape I want them in, all day. And finally, Urban Decay Brow Box for its portability.

If there is anything I should add to my list, please let me know. Otherwise, stay tuned for monthly reviews!

Lips are it for 2014.

If you haven't already heard, it is projected that we will spend more money on lip products than ever before. There will be more options to experiment with, allowing us to unleash our inner makeup artist. Who doesn't want a productive creative outlet?

I love a bold lip paired with an undone, yet radiant, face. An easy way to recreate this look is by applying a gold shimmery eyeshadow over red lipstick. Pow! In a major way.

Get those lips in prime condition now.
