After a very successful personal shopping day with my client, whom fit perfectly into almost every dress that I brought into the dressing room, inspired me to rethink dresses. Not that I don't own a dress or two or five. I do. I just haven't found the formula dress for my body shape. The one exception ... my Reem Acra dress (that with two fittings, looks like it was designed for my body and no one else's). Yes, a personal stylist who has difficulty finding great fitting dresses ... can you imagine? The reality is, my body shape demands major alterations. It shouldn't come as a surprise that most of us require alterations for dresses, among other staple wardrobe items.

I know what cuts and styles fit my clients best. And if I were my own client for a day, I'd confidently say this fabulous couture-quality 1950s Suzy Perette dress, from my friends at Shrimpton Couture, would be a match made in heaven. I fell in love with this dress when I first saw it ... and before it was actually available. And sadly, it sold out instantly, to a celebrity, no doubt (*huge sigh of sadness*). However, this would be the one ... the dress that wouldn't need major alterations. The dress that I just might have to have made for me.
